This month, Expert Talks starts with Victor Udoewa. If you don’t know Victor yet, you should. Earlier this year, he was part of the DOGE ‘efficiency’ dismantling of the US government, where he was fired, re-hired, then fired again.
Victor Udoewa recently worked as a Principal Service Designer at the CDC’s Office of Public Health Data, Surveillance & Technology. There, he worked to guide the design of AI/ML tools and improve data interoperability in public health systems.
An engineer and designer trained at Harvard and Rice, he spent time at DHS, USAID and Google. At the US Government’s Digital Service agency, 18F, he was Director of Strategy, where he built its education business unit, shaped digital strategy, and led design and consulting.
At NASA , Victor served as CTO, CXO, and Principal Service Designer for the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs.
Victor pioneered “radical participatory design” (RPD), embedding lived experience of communities from day one into co-designing solutions.
